Pune, 21st November 2023: District Legal Services Authority, Pune, has scheduled a Lok Adalat on December 9, 2023, at the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic Branch) Office in Yerwada to address pending cases related to traffic rule violations. A meeting was conducted today with KP Nandedkar, District Judge 1, Pune, and along with Sonal Patil, Secretary, Pune District Legal Services Authority, Shivajinagar, Pune.

A help desk providing information about fine relaxation after settling pending traffic challans will be initiated at the Traffic Branch Office, Bungalow No. 6, near Yerawada Post Office, Pune, starting from November 22.

The Lok Adalat aims to address a substantial number of summons issued by the traffic police to citizens in Pune City, Pune Rural, Pimpri Chinchwad, and Pune Highway. The District Legal Services Authority, Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune Rural, and the administration have taken special measures to ensure citizens summoned face minimal inconvenience during the Lok Adalat. The goal is to collectively dispose of Lok Adalat cases efficiently to save citizens’ time.

As part of this initiative and in the public interest, pending traffic violation cases on citizens’ vehicles will be exempted after the compromise. Drivers/owners with pending cases of traffic violations on their vehicles are invited to visit the Deputy Commissioner of Police Traffic Branch Office in Yerwada, Pune, from November 22, 2023, between 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. By attending and settling the pending cases, the fine amount on the motorist will be reduced after compromise. Different tables will be set up at the helpdesk for settling pending traffic bills in Pune City, Pune Rural, and Pimpri Chinchwad.
