Pune: Anti-Corruption Bureau Registers Three Cases In A Single Day, Talegaon Municipal Council CEO Among Those Booked

Pune, 31st May 2021: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Pune unit, has registered three cases today in the district.

A case has been registered against Talegaon Dabhade municipal council’s chief executive officer (CEO) and garden superintendent for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs nine lakh. In Shirur, a cooperative officer was caught taking a bribe of Rs 15,000. In Pune, a lawyer has been arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.

Talegaon: The complainant had got some works within the limits of Talegaon Dabhade municipal council. The garden supervisor Vishal Ankush Mind (33) had demanded a bribe of Rs nine lakh from the complainant allegedly at the request of Sham Laxman Poshetti (44), the CEO of the municipal council, to release the bill amount for the four works done by him. After he lodged a complaint with ACB, an FIR at Talegaon Dabhade police station was registered after verifying the demand.  

Shirur:  Shivaji Mahadu Gavhane (56) of Shirur was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000. Gavhane is a cooperative officer in the office of the Assistant Registrar of Co-operative Societies in Shirur. The complainant had applied for renewal of his money lending license. Gavhane had demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000. After getting a complaint, ACB laid a trap and caught Gavhane taking a bribe of Rs 15,000. A case has been registered at Shirur police station.

Shivajinagar: A lawyer in the Pune family court was caught taking a bribe of Rs 10,000. Harikisan Shriramji Soni (39) is the name of the arrested lawyer. A case has been registered at Shivajinagar police station against him. The woman complainant is in the process of getting a divorce in the family court. The district legal services authority (DLSA) had appointed Soni as a lawyer in the case. He demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant and was caught taking the bribe on Monday.

The actions were taken under the guidance of the Superintendent of Police (ACB) Rajesh Bansode, Additional SP Suraj Gurav and Suhas Nadgouda.

“People can approach the ACB if any government staff demands a bribe”, Bansode appealed.
