Pune, 29th January 2026: The AIT Alumni Association is set to host its Annual Alumni Meet on 7 February 2026, bringing together alumni from across batches for an evening of reconnection, reflection, and celebration of their shared journey with the Army Institute of Technology (AIT).
A key highlight of this year’s meet will be the formal introduction of four new alumni award categories, instituted to recognise outstanding achievements and meaningful contributions by members of the alumni community. The newly announced awards include:
•Academic & Research Excellence Award
•Leadership Excellence Award
•Alumni Service Award
•Social Impact Award
These awards aim to honour alumni who have demonstrated excellence in their professional domains; shown exemplary leadership; contributed positively to society; or rendered dedicated service to the institution and its alumni network.
The AIT Alumni Association has opened the nomination process for these awards and invites participation from alumni, faculty members, and stakeholders. Nominations, including self-nominations, may be submitted by contacting the Governing Council at [email protected].
Speaking about the upcoming meet, Amit Agarwal, President, AIT Alumni Governing Council, said;
“An alumni meet is always special because it brings together stories, friendships, and journeys that began at AIT. I warmly invite alumni from all batches to join us on 7 February 2026 and reconnect with the institute and with each other. This year, we are also introducing new alumni awards, and I encourage everyone to participate actively; whether by nominating deserving peers or through self-nomination. Every journey deserves to be celebrated. Your presence and involvement will add immense value to this gathering and further strengthen our alumni community.”
AIT has, over the years, established a strong reputation for producing successful entrepreneurs, bureaucrats, technocrats, and distinguished defence officers, contributing meaningfully to the nation across sectors.
Highlighting the broader vision for alumni engagement, Ravi Kumar, who is leading the AIT Connect program, said;
“AIT has consistently done well and has given the country many startups, bureaucrats, technocrats, and defence officers. It is now time to bring everyone together and build stronger collaboration platforms. Through AIT Connect, our aim is to form multiple alumni chapters and enable deeper engagement, collaboration, and collective impact among alumni.”
The Annual Alumni Meet 2026 is expected to witness enthusiastic participation from alumni across generations and marks an important step towards strengthening the AIT alumni ecosystem through recognition, collaboration, and shared purpose.
