Pune: Attack On Newspaper Photographer In Mundhwa For Complaining About Encroachment
Mundhwa, 17th December 2022: A newspaper photographer and his parents were beaten up in Mundhwa after complaining to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) about encroachment around the entrance of a residential building.
The incident took place in front of the Priyanka Residency Building in Mundhwa at around noon on Friday (December 16). A case has been registered against three people and one has been arrested. Surendra Pilley (65), Vishal Surendra Pilley (40) Ashish Pilley (35), of Ganesh Nagar, Vathare Wasti, Mundhwa have been charged with IPC sections 307, 354 (A), 392, 323, 506 (2), 504, 201, 34 and relevant sections of the Maharashtra Media Persons and Media Institutions (Prevention of Violence and damage or Loss to Property) Act.
Police have arrested Vishal. Amit Tanaji Ruke (27), a resident of Shirke Company Road, Mundhwa has filed a complaint at the Mundhwa Police Station.
According to the information given by the police, the ground floor of Priyanka Residency Apartment is a commercial block and some businessmen have encroached on this place by setting up Patra sheds. The accused have encroached and started a beer shop and a hardware shop in the block. This is causing problems for the residents of the apartment while bringing their vehicles for parking.
Due to this, the complainant and other residents of the apartment lodged a complaint with the Pune Municipal Administration. The complainant and others followed up with the Municipal Corporation to remove the encroachment.
Accordingly, the Anti-Encroachment team of the Municipal Corporation removed the encroachment on Friday afternoon. While the encroachment proceedings were going on, the accused beat up the complainant’s father.
At that time, the complainant and his mother went to resolve the dispute. Ashish hit her in the back of the head with an iron weapon. Vishal grabbed the complainant’s mobile worth Rs 30,000. Also, it has been mentioned in the complaint that Surendra misbehaved with the complainant’s mother by speaking obscenely. Police are conducting further investigation.
