Pune: Author Amit Thadhani’s Book Exposes ‘Flaws’ in Investigative Process of Rationalist Murders
Pune, 6th May 2023: “After the murders of the four rationalists Dr. Narendra Dabholkar, Communist leader Govind Pansare, Kalburgi and Gauri Lankesh, the way the investigating agencies conducted the investigation in all the four cases, there was no coherence and logic anywhere. On the contrary, the investigation derailed. For writing the book ‘The Rationalist Murders’ I have checked hundreds of references and read over 10,000 pages of indictments. In this book, I have presented only the truth of the investigation, I have not taken anyone’s side” said by Dr. Amit Thadhani.
On May 5 at Amber Hall in Kothrud, Dr. Amit Thadani was speaking at the launch of his book ‘The Rationalist Murders’. Well-known author Shefali Vaidya was present as the chief guest and Vidyadhar Nargolkar, The Mahamantri of the Swatantryaveer Savarkar Smruti Pratishthan was a special guest. The book was published by these dignitaries. Adv. Virendra Ichalkaranjikar was also present on this occasion. The program was coordinated by Dr. Anjana Thadani.
Dr. Amit Thadhani further said, every 2-3 years some people are caught in the case of killing of atheists and they are said to be the murderers. Each time eyewitnesses were produced to implicate them, each time the killers were changed, the weapons were changed, the ‘Forensic Lab’ reports of the weapons were different. Instead of knowing the truth, some media also contributed to mislead the investigation by doing a ‘media trial’. This had a major impact on the investigation. Innocent people belonging to Hindu organizations have been tortured and kept in jail for many years.

The hard work done by Dr. Thadhani for this book is unsurpassed. In all these four cases, the investigative agencies had first found the Hindus guilty and then found the evidence. Investigation agencies have taken a reverse journey of investigation. But in all these years, the investigative agencies could not reach the final conclusion of any of these murders. Sadhus in Palghar were stoned to death. Bajrang Dal workers were killed. But there was no buzz about their murders. Didn’t they have the right to live, to get justice? If Dr. Dabholkar has done the work of Andhashradha Nirmulan Samiti ANiS, does the Sanatan Sanstha not have the right to do its work? So Hindus must read this book to know the truth. This book should be published not only in English but also in Hindi and Marathi.

Dr. Thadhani has presented that many wrong things have been done by the investigation system in the investigation of murders, the authors of this book have shown the courage to question it, questions should be asked in many cases like Gujarat riots, Malegaon blast case.
