Pune: Babaji Kale Defeats NCP’s Dilip Mohite By Over 50,000 Votes In Khed-Alandi

Pune, 23rd November 2024: Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) candidate Babaji Kale defeated sitting MLA Dilip Mohite from Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) by over 50,000 votes and Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) candidate Ravindra Randhave by 1,47,000 votes in the Khed-Alandi constituency.
Dilip Mohite, the sitting MLA, faced significant discontent from voters, and the power of anti-incumbency was evident in this election. Mohite was criticized by the people of Chakan MIDC and Mahalunge MIDC for failing to address issues like infrastructure, electricity supply, and traffic congestion. As a result, Shiv Sena (UBT) secured their only seat in Pune district.
With a total of 3.66 lakh voters, the high voter turnout of 67.70% contributed to Kale’s victory over the incumbent.
