Pune: Bailiff Of Civil Court And MSEDCL’s Assistant Engineer Caught While Accepting Bribe By ACB In Seperate Cases

Pune 1st Sept 2023: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials of Pune region have arrested a Bailiff working at a civil court in the city and an assistant engineer of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited (MSEDCL) for demanding and accepting a bribe in two different cases on Friday. Two seperate cases have been registered at Chatushringi Police Station and Shivajinagar Police Station in the matter.

According to ACB, the accused Bailiff identified as Laxman Nathu Kale (40) had demanded a bribe of Rs 1,000 from the complainant to issue summons to a respondent in a case and submit report in the court. The ACB team after receiving inputs on the matter verified details and nabbed the accused by laying a trap. A case in this regard was registered at Shivajinagar Police Station under relevant sections.

In another case, an assistant engineer of MSEDCL was arrested for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 for a completion certificate of the work from a contractor. The accused identified as Ravindra Nanasaheb Kanade (37) was arrested in the matter and a case in this regard has been registered at Chatushringi Police Station under relevant sections.
