Pune: Actor R Madhavan Appointed New Chairman Of FTII
Pune 1st Sept 2023: The Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Friday has nominated actor R Madhavan as the new Chairman of the Film Television Institute of India (FTII). Union Minister Anurag Thakur congratulated the actor on his nomination.
“Heartiest congratulations to @ActorMadhavan ji on being nominated as President of @FTIIOfficial and Chairman of the governing council. I’m sure that your vast experience & strong ethics will enrich this institute, bring positive changes, & take it to a higher level. My best wishes to you.” Anurag Thakur shared on X platform that was formerly known as Twitter.
R Madhvan who recently directed ‘Rocketery : The Nambi Effect’ movie that won a national award for the best feature film. Madhavan will replace filmmaker Shekhar Kapoor at FTII. Before him, actor Anupam Kher also served as the president of the prestigious film institute of the country for one year. Best known for his film Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein, he played the role of a lead actor in many bollywood as well as south Indian movies.
