Pune Bandh Appeal Supported By Ganeshotsav Mandals, Condemn Insulting Remarks About Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

Pune, 12th December 2022: Derogatory statements about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj are being made by high-ranking persons as well as some public representatives. Sentiments have been hurt by this. Expressing condemnation of these statements, Ganeshotsav Mandals in Pune have supported the call for Pune Bandh on 13th December (tomorrow).

 

36 Ganeshotsav mandals of the city, including Tambdi Jogeshwari Mandal, Kesari Wada Mandal, Tulshibaug Ganpati, Akhil Mandai Mandal, and Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati, have supported the said bandh.

 

Anna Thorat said, “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is our source of inspiration. We have great respect for all other great men and women personalities of the country, and we are both aware and proud of their invaluable contribution to the country.”

 

 

“For the past few days, insulting statements about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj have been made by high-ranking persons as well as some public representatives. This has deeply hurt our sentiments, and we regretfully protest against it; regretfully, because our elected representatives are making such baseless statements about our belief,” he added further.

 

“Henceforth, anyone, whether political or ordinary citizens, uttering even a single derogatory word about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will not be tolerated at all.”

 

The representatives of Ganeshotsav Mandals also appealed to take note of this and keep this in mind when talking about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja in the future.
