Pune Bandh: Essential Shops, Bakeries To Be Closed For 5 Hours – Opposition Parties
Pune, 12th December 2022: In a bandh called by Mahavikas Aghadi and several organisations in Pune, shops and markets will remain closed on Tuesday (December 13) till 3 pm. Governor Koshyari called Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj an icon of “old times” and called Dr BR Ambedkar and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari “icons of modern times”, sparking controversy. The remark of the governor evoked sharp reactions from different political parties in Maharashtra.
The parties have said that essential services like the grocery stores, bakeries, and milk shops will be allowed to open till 10 am on Tuesday, and after that, the shops will be closed till 3 pm. Medical shops will be open throughout the day.
