Pune/Jaisalmer, 15th February 2025: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Birth Anniversary (Shiv Jayanti) will be celebrated this year at the Shri Tanot Mata Temple near the India-Pakistan border in Rajasthan. The Maratha Tiger Force (MTF) organizes this event annually in different states to spread awareness about Shivaji Maharaj’s true history and inspire soldiers with his ideals. This year’s celebration, scheduled for 22nd February, will take place in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan, in collaboration with the Border Security Force (BSF).

Sandip Lahane Patil, founder president of Maratha Tiger Force and chief organizer of the Rajasthan Shivjayanti Festival Committee, announced the details during a press conference. The event will feature Maharashtrian cultural programs, lectures on Shivaji Maharaj, and an awards ceremony honouring BSF personnel and social workers. Five awards named after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will be presented to individuals from Maharashtra and Rajasthan for their notable contributions.

Additionally, on 19th February, a separate celebration will be held at the BM Birla Auditorium in Jaipur, organized by Bharat Kranti Mission. This event will be attended by the Governor of Rajasthan, along with ministers and legislators from both Rajasthan and Maharashtra.

The organizers aim to educate people across India about Shivaji Maharaj’s life, work, and the concept of Swarajya while promoting the celebration of Shivaji Jayanti nationwide. Sandip Lahane Patil has also reiterated a long-standing demand to declare 19th February as a national holiday in honour of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Birth Anniversary.
