Pune-Belagavi Flights to Take Off Again with Two Leading Airlines
Pune, 16th August 2023: Strengthening the link between two significant Indian urban centers, Pune and Belagavi, is back on the horizon as Rajya Sabha MP Iranna Kadadi unveils plans to revive flight services. Following a hiatus of several months, the Delhi-Belagavi and Pune-Belagavi flight routes are preparing for a comeback, thanks to the collaborative efforts of two prominent airlines.
MP Kadadi chose Twitter as the platform to break the news to the public. He announced that Star Air is poised to kickstart daily flight operations between Pune and Belagavi starting October 29. In a subsequent move, IndiGo Airlines will join the endeavor, launching thrice-weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, beginning October 31.
Dhairyashil Vandekar, an aviation expert and President of the Vithalrao Vandekar Foundation, lauds this development. Vandekar highlights the substantial advantages that the revival of Pune-Belagavi flights brings, particularly for professionals in sectors like IT and business. Notably, these flight routes were discontinued a year ago under the regional connectivity scheme ‘Udaan’. Vandekar also draws attention to the need for air connectivity between Pune and Nashik, urging for future initiatives in that direction.
