Pune: Bhoomipujan Marks Start of Vital Road Project: Moshi to Pune-Nashik Highway Construction Begins
Moshi, 21st November 2023: To address the persistent traffic congestion on the Talawade to Moshi road, a commitment has been made to complete the road construction from Moshi Shivarasta to the Pune-Nashik highway. This assurance was given to local citizens and society owners, aiming to alleviate traffic issues in both residential and industrial areas. The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation initiated this road project, and it is anticipated to be completed within a year.
MLA Mahesh Landge, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), conducted the Bhoomi Pujan (groundbreaking ceremony) for the proposed road in Moshi. The event saw the presence of various dignitaries, including former mayor Rahul Jadhav, former corporator Sarika Borhade, and several community members and society owners from the area. The 30-meter wide Development Plan (DP) road will extend from Ward No. 2 Moshi, Group No. 1252 Shiv road, to Group No. 752 on the Pune-Nashik Highway.
Highlighting the critical need to address traffic congestion, especially between Moshi and Dehu Phata, the road construction project aims to provide relief to citizens and motorists. Mahesh Landge expressed confidence that once completed, the road would contribute to a “traffic-free” commute in the residential and industrial zones.
Former Mayor Rahul Jadhav emphasized that the new road would not only ease traffic between Moshi and Dehu Phata but would also enhance connectivity for local farmers and society owners. Furthermore, plans for the construction of a new road through the Chikhali-Hawaldar Mala are in consideration, which could serve as a parallel route to the Chikhali-Moshi road in the future, offering additional relief to commuters.
