Pune: BigBasket Godown Gutted In Fire In Bavdhan, Nobody Injured

Bavdhan, 13th September 2021: A godown of online grocery store BigBasket was gutted in a fire around Sunday midnight in Bavdhan. Nobody was injured in the incident but the facility suffered extensive damage.
According to the Pune fire brigade, they had received a call about the fire around 11.30 pm on Sunday. As the fire had intensified, besides Pune, fire tenders were called from MIDC, PMRDA and PCMC also.
The fire was brought under control at around 2.30 am on Monday. The cooling operation, including spraying of water to avoid any secondary fire, continued till about 5.30 am.
According to fire officer Shivaji Memane, the godown made of tin is spread over 25,000 square feet. It had racks of grocery and food items. A cash box was also damaged. The cause of the fire is being ascertained.
