Pune: BJP Candidate in Kasba Assembly By-Election Hemant Rasane Booked for Violating Election Code

Pune, 27th February 2023: A case has been registered against Hemant Rasane, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Kasba Assembly by-election, for violating the election code of conduct. The case was filed by the Election Commission as Rasane was seen wearing the BJP symbol around his neck while casting his vote during the election held yesterday at Nutan Marathi Vidyalaya.

The BJP candidate is also accused of campaigning after the official election campaign was over, wearing a lotus band. Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray group) filed a written complaint with the election returning officer regarding this violation of the code of conduct.

NCP leader Rupali Patil Thombare, along with the leader of the Thackeray group, filed a formal written complaint with the election authorities against Rasane. The matter is being taken seriously, and the case has been registered against Rasane.

The violation of the election code of conduct is a serious issue, and the Election Commission is taking necessary action to ensure that such violations do not take place during the election process.
