Yerwada, 19th October 2021: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded a ‘dry day’ in the entire state on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad ie the birth anniversary of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad.

Anwar Pathan, Pune City President of BJP Minority Morcha under the guidance of BJP’s Pune City President Jagdish Mulik, submitted a memorandum to District Collector Rajesh Deshmukh on Monday.

A letter has also been sent to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar to take immediate action on the issue.

It has been also discussed with Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis and all MLAs, MPs, Commissioner of Excise, Commissioner of Police and Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol.

Pathan said, “Prophet Muhammad is the founder of Islam and the last messenger of Allah. Alcohol has been declared taboo in the Holy Quran. Therefore, on the day of his birthday, Eid-e-Milad, there should be a complete ban on the sale of liquor in Maharashtra.”

BJP minority wing’s Mustafabhai Patel, General Secretary Javed Sheikh, Women Vice President Zarina Sheikh, Amarin Sheikh, Cantonment Assembly Speaker Salim Sheikh, Pune City Secretary Mansoor Sheikh and other members were also present on the occasion.
