Pune BJP Protests Against Controversial Statement Made By Ajit Pawar Regarding Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj

Pune, 2nd January 2022: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) today (January 2) protested against opposition leader Ajit Pawar’s statement in the recently held winter assembly session. Pawar had said on the last day of the winter session that Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj was not a religious hero but a ‘Swarajya Rakshak’.
Jagdish Mulik, City President of Pune BJP said, “Pawar insulted Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Most of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s lifespan went fighting against the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. Maharaj sacrificed his life to protect the country and religion.”
Mulik further said that Pawar made the said controversial statement to get votes out of helplessness is reprehensible and he should apologize to the entire society.
