Pune: BJP Women’s Wing Vandalizes Clinic Linked to Dr. Sushrut Ghaisas After Woman’s death at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital

Pune, 4th April 2025: Tensions escalated in Pune after members of the BJP Mahila Aghadi vandalized Ashwini Nursing Home, a hospital owned by the father of Dr. Sushrut Ghaisas. The protest erupted following allegations that Dr. Ghaisas demanded ₹10 lakh from the family of Tanisha Bhise for treatment at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital.
The incident stems from the death of Tanisha Bhise, wife of BJP MLC Amit Gorkhe and personal assistant to Sushant Bhise. Her family claims that she passed away because the hospital administration delayed treatment due to non-payment of fees. Following media reports on the matter, public outrage against Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital intensified, leading to heightened police security at the facility.
Earlier in the day, at around 11 a.m., office bearers of the Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction) and the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) clashed outside the hospital. Both groups raised slogans, demanding action against the hospital administration. Amid the protest, Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital’s Public Relations Officer, Shirish Yadkikar, attempted to address the media but was met with hostility. Protesters from the Thackeray group reportedly threw coins at him in anger.
As the agitation grew, the Patitpavan organization blackened the hospital board and staged a demonstration. Subsequently, BJP Mahila Aghadi city president Harshada Farande led a protest in front of Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital before proceeding to Ashwini Nursing Home, where members of the group vandalized the premises.
Reacting to the attack, Dr. Neelima Ghaisas, stated, “Sushrut Ghaisas is my son, but he has no connection with this clinic. Our hospital was targeted unnecessarily. My husband, my other son, and I have been running this hospital for 40 years.”
