Pune: BJP Worker Thrashes NCP Woman Leader During Book Launch By Smriti Irani

Shivajinagar, 16th May 2022: Union Minister Smriti Irani today was in Pune for the launch of the Marathi edition of the book on the political journey of Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah. Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) workers held a protest outside JW Marriott Hotel on SB Road and near Balgandharva auditorium, where she attended programs.

 

Inside the Balgandharva auditorium, NCP leader Vaishali Nagwade and two others raised slogans following which there was a scuffle with the BJP workers. Police intervened and escorted them outside the hall. A video of the incident is being widely circulated on social media.

Nagwade said, “As we were not allowed to meet Smriti Irani at JW Marriott hotel to raise the issue of fuel price hike, we went to Balgandharv auditorium and sat in the last row. Suddenly BJP workers started raising slogans following which we also raised slogans. A male BJP worker hit us in the presence of police.”
