Pune BMW Obscenity Case: Pune Court Grants Bail To Gaurav Ahuja’s Friend; Investigation Continues

Pune, 20th March 2025: The Pune Sessions Court has granted bail to Bhagyesh Oswal, the friend of Gaurav Ahuja, who was involved in the signal obscenity case. Oswal was in the car with Ahuja when the latter committed the indecent act.

The incident occurred in Yerawada, where Ahuja was caught on video urinating and making obscene gestures at a traffic signal. Oswal, who remained seated in the vehicle during the act, was arrested along with Ahuja by Pune police. Both were presented before the court, and Oswal was sent to Yerawada Jail. However, on Wednesday (19th March), the Sessions Court granted him bail.

Following the incident, Ahuja reportedly fled to Karad and later released a video apologizing for his behavior. He then surrendered to the police. It was also revealed that he had changed the number plate of his BMW car in an attempt to evade authorities. The police have since seized the vehicle.

Further investigations revealed that Gaurav Ahuja and his father, Manoj Ahuja, have previous criminal records, including cases of cricket betting and extortion. Both have previously served jail time. The Ahuja family, originally involved in the lottery business, has recently entered the hotel industry and owns a hotel in Pune. Authorities have also uncovered their alleged involvement in illegal cricket betting operations.
