Pune Book Fair 2023: Western India’s Largest Book Exhibition to Open Next Week
Pune, 4th March 2023: The much-awaited Pune Book Fair, Western India’s largest book and education exhibition, will be held from March 9 to March 12, 2023, at Creaticity Mall in Yerwada, Pune.
Co-sponsored by a group of organizations including the Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad and Akashvani Pune, this exhibition will feature renowned book sellers and publishers, educational institutions, government publications, and a wide range of books on various subjects in different languages, including English, Marathi, Hindi, Urdu, and Sanskrit.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on Thursday, March 9th, 2023, at 11 am by the Pune Divisional Commissioner, Saurabh Rao, with the Chief Executive Officer of Creaticity Mall, M. Mahesh, and the Hindu Group’s N. Vaidyanathan, present as special guests.
Visitors can explore an array of educational resources at the Pune Book Fair, making it the main attraction. Leading bookstores and publishers, such as Crossword Book Stores Pvt. Ltd., will cover a wide range of books for readers of all ages. Additionally, foreign language books will also be on display, with renowned publisher Goyal Publishers & Distributors Pvt. Ltd. showcasing the best educational foreign language books like French, Japanese, German, Spanish, and English.
The Government of India Publications Division will have a dedicated section with excellent books in English and other Indian languages, including the latest books on Census and other publications from the Census Department. Balbharati will also have educational books in Marathi, Hindi, and English languages. Furthermore, other exhibitions, such as Sahitya Akademi, National Library (Kolkata), Novels in English/Hindi, and Aryan Publications (Delhi/NCR Region), will also be available to explore.
The National Film Archives of India will showcase a 100-year history of Indian films. In addition, there will be an enterprise section to promote small publishers and booksellers, which will include an author’s corner and a catalog display counter. Leading newspapers in the field will also set up their stalls and present their other publications.
To further promote the Pune Book Fair, there will be a range of programs and sessions, including Authors Meet (English Writers) on Saturday, March 11th, 2023, with famous and new authors such as Dr. Hemali Joshi and Dr. Nitya Prakash presenting their books/writings and sharing their thoughts. Rohit Jerajani (Express Book Services, Pune) is the organizer of this session. Additionally, there will be a Writers at your visit (Marathi Writers’ Meet) on the same day at 6 pm, moderated by Deepak Karandikar.
On Sunday, March 12th, 2023, there will be a Kavi Samelan (Marathi) at 6 pm, with more than 20 popular and new poets from Pune division present. The convention will be moderated by Ramesh Jadhav.
