He had gone for a swim with his friend around 1 pm though he did not know how to swim properly. Mayur went to an iron bridge about 500 meters from the dam, plunged into the water and drowned due to unpredictable water depth. Mayur’s friend informed his grandfather who alerted the Haveli police station.

ASI Subhash Gire immediately informed the Nanded City Fire Station and a team reached the spot. They are searching for Mayur.

At present 1134 cusecs water is being carried through the Khadakwasla dam canal for farming in Haveli, Daund and Indapur taluka areas. Therefore, water is flowing fast through the canal. High water flow is hampering the search.

The fire brigade team led by officer Sujit Patil is engaged in the search operation.
