Pune: Brother And Sister Drown In Stream While Catching Crabs In Ambegaon Taluka

Ambegaon, 4th August 2023: Gangapur Khurd village in Ambegaon taluka of Pune district was plunged into sorrow yesterday, Thursday, August 3, as a heart-wrenching incident of drowning unfolded, claiming the lives of two young siblings.

The victims were identified as Aryan Arun Kale (11 years old) and his sister Anjali Arun Kale (15 years old). Aditya Jadhav reported the incident to the Ghodegaon police station under Pune rural police.

According to the information, on Thursday, the siblings had ventured to the nearby stream adjacent to the Varsubai temple with the intention of catching crabs. Tragically, the stream’s water level was high. As time passed without the children returning home, concerns grew, leading to a search operation. It was during this search that the lifeless bodies of both children were discovered in the stream. Local residents promptly retrieved the siblings from the water, but their vital signs had already ceased.

Ambulance swiftly arrived at the scene and rushed the victims to Ghodegaon Rural Health Hospital. Unfortunately, the medical team at the hospital declared both Aryan and Anjali as brought dead.

Aryan was a student in Class V, while Anjali was in Class IX at Shri Hanuman Vidyalaya in Gangapur Budruk.

The tragic loss of these young lives has cast a pall of sorrow over Gangapur Khurd and Gangapur Budruk areas. The investigation into this heart-wrenching incident is being conducted by Police Sub Inspector Kishore Waghaj, under the guidance of Assistant Police Inspector Kiran Bhalekar of the Ghodegaon Police Station.
