Pune, 13th November 2022: A builder and contractor of the building being constructed in Mangdewadi have been arrested by police for their “negligence,” due to which a two-year-old girl died on Friday morning after falling into an open water tank in the parking lot.

Ansika Sahani’s 27-year-old father, Sunil Sahani, lodged a report about the incident at the Bharati Vidyapeeth police station on Saturday. Police claim that Sunil is a labourer at the building being constructed in Katraj’s Mangdewadi. On Friday around 11 a.m., his daughter died when she slipped into an open water tank.

According to police, Sunil claimed in the complaint that the defendant had not taken the necessary security precautions, including failing to secure a net to the tank’s four sides or cover the water tank with a lid.
