Pune: Burglars Strike In Khadki, Lonikand, Chaturshringi, and Kondhwa Police Stations Areas, Steal Valuables Worth Rs 12 Lakh
Pune, 8th October 2023: A series of burglaries have rattled various parts of Pune city, with thieves making away with cash, gold, and silver worth a total of approximately 12,14,000 rupees. Incidents have been reported in the areas under Khadki, Lonikand, Chaturshringi, and Kondhwa police stations, leading to the registration of cases against unidentified culprits.
In one such incident in Bopodi, thieves forcefully entered a residential flat by breaking the door lock. The break-in occurred between 10:00 p.m. on October 3rd and 6:30 a.m. on October 4th. The complainant, Rajiv Anil Chandra Ghosh, reported the loss of 6 grams of gold jewellery and 24,000 rupees in cash from a bedroom wardrobe. Khadki police station has registered a complaint under IPC sections 457 and 380, and PSI Gunjal is leading the investigation.
Another burglary unfolded under the jurisdiction of Lonikand police station, where the perpetrators broke into a residence between 3:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on September 14th. Satyaprakash Yadav of Lonikand filed a complaint, citing the theft of gold jewellery valued at approximately 1.5 lakhs. Lonikand police have filed a case against unknown culprits under IPC sections 457, 454, and 380, with Police Constable Sakate assigned to probe the matter.
In the third incident, Chatushrungi police station reported a break-in with the thieves tampering with the door locks to gain entry. The theft occurred in the home of Ashutosh Bavandikar on SB Road, resulting in the loss of 62 grams of gold jewellery and 3,24,000 rupees in cash. Police Sub-Inspector Sonawane is overseeing the investigation.
Lastly, in the Kondhwa area on NIBM Road, a bungalow in Kumar Palm Spring Society became a target for burglars who made off with approximately 7,16,000 rupees in cash and gold jewellery. Sunil Jaru, the caretaker of the bungalow owned by Jogesh Wali, reported the incident, which occurred between 5:30 p.m. on October 5th and 11 a.m. on October 7th. Assistant Police Inspector Shinde is heading the investigation into this case.
