Pune: Businessman Cheated of Rs 30 Lakhs in Police CCTV Installation Scam

Pune, 3rd June 2023: In a startling incident, a gang of six individuals has been accused of defrauding a businessman of a whopping ₹30 lakhs. The deceitful group enticed the victim by making false promises of assisting him in securing a contract to install CCTV cameras for the esteemed police force. The fraudulent act has resulted in the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against the suspects at the Vimantal Police Station.

The six alleged culprits have been identified as Ajit Shah (45), Mayura Shah (36), Sandeep Darekar (32), Sairaj Parwat, Savi Saini (43), Sangeeta Sharma and others. The aggrieved businessman lodged a formal complaint with the Vimantal Police Station, shedding light on the unfortunate incident.

According to the police, the complainant had prior acquaintances with the accused individuals. It appears that the gang successfully enticed him by offering assistance in procuring a contract to install CCTV cameras for the Maharashtra Police Force in Nanded, Konkan, and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.

Taking advantage of the victim’s trust, the accused managed to extort a staggering sum of ₹30 lakhs under the guise of securing the CCTV installation contract. However, the businessman’s hopes were shattered when he realized that he had fallen victim to a clever ruse. Determined to seek justice, he promptly approached the Vimantal police and filed a detailed complaint.

Assistant Police Inspector Pathak, stationed at the Vimantal Police Station, has taken charge of the case and is currently conducting a thorough investigation to uncover all relevant details and bring the perpetrators to justice.
