Maharashtra Cricket Association’s Maharashtra Premier League gets record franchise fees for Six teams

Pune, June 2, 2023: Maharashtra Cricket Associationpromoted MaharashtraPremier League (MPL) received a record franchise fees of whopping ₹57.80 for 6 teams that were auctioned today .

Mr Rohit Pawar President of the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) said that 20 corporates and business houses participated in the auction for 6 cities Who will play in this MPL .

Mr Pawar added, “We had kept a base price of ₹1 cr per year for 3 years for the 6 teams expecting a minimum value of ₹18 crore for the MPL. But we inturn received a record franchise fees of whopping ₹57.80 for 6 teams for 3 years after the teams were auctioned today “.

Mr Pawar added that we followed a completely transparent process to buy the ownership through open bid system.

Pune based Pravin Masalewale won the bid for the Pune Franchise winning the bid for ₹14.8 crore along with Ruturaj Gaikwad as their Icon Player

Punit Balan Group won the bid for the Kolhapur Franchise for ₹11crores with Kedar Jadhav as their Icon player.

Eagle Infra India Ltd won the Nasik franchise for ₹9.10 crores with Rahul Tripathi as the the Icon player .

The Sambhajinagar Franchise was won by Venkateshwara Industrial Services Pvt Ltd for ₹8.70crores with Rajvardhan Hangargekar as their Icon Player .

The Ratnagiri team franchise rights were bagged by JetSyntheses for ₹8.30 crores with Azim Kazi as their star player.

Kapil Sons Explosive LLP bagged the Solapur Franchise for ₹7 crores with Vicky Ostwal as their Icon player

“We are committed to making the League profitable for all the Team Owners. The money collected at the Auction will be used for the betterment of cricket in Maharashtra.” added Mr Pawar

He further added, “The MCA will strive for the upliftment of the sport of cricket in Maharashtra, giving an opportunity to young and upcoming talent showcase their skill at such a great platform.”

I’m Sure This League will throw open opportunities to the players for the IPL and Indian Cricket Team he further said

The MPL Governing Council was also announced during the MPL Team Auctions.
Mr. Sacheen Mulay, Apex Council Member of MCA will be the Chairman of MPL. The Other Members of the council are Mr. Shubhendra Bhandarkar, Hon. Secretary of MCA , Mr. Sanjay Bajaj, Hon. Treasurer of MCA and Mr. Kamlesh Pisal, MCA Legal

MPL will be held at the iconic MCA International Stadium, Gahunje, Pune from 15 June 2023.

Over 200 players from the 21 districts that come under jurisdiction of MCA will be available in the auction pool for the six teams
