Pune, 3rd June 2023: In a distressing incident, a 32-year-old resident of Kondhwa, Mohammad Ali Khalil Patel, fell victim to an elaborate mobilephone scam where an unknown caller duped him of Rs 9.50 lakhs. The fraudulent individual, posing as an investment advisor, convinced Patel that he would earn a 10 percent profit within 10 months if he invested in the stock market.

Distressed by the deceit, Patel promptly lodged a complaint with the local police, leading to the registration of an FIR against three unidentified culprits at the Kondhwa Police Station on Saturday.

According to the police, the swindler initiated contact with Patel through a mobilephone call, promising substantial returns on investment. Under the guise of a legitimate opportunity, the scammer managed to coax Rs 9.50 lakhs from Patel without fulfilling the promised profit or returning the principal amount.

Taking the matter seriously, Police Inspector Sanjay Mogle of the Kondhwa Police Station has initiated a thorough investigation to uncover the identity of the fraudsters and bring them to justice. Authorities are determined to pursue the case diligently and ensure that such fraudulent schemes are exposed and deterred in the future.
