Pune: Buy Tickets on Time or Face Penalty, PMPML Warns Commuters

Pune, 17th May 2025: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has issued a strong advisory to all bus passengers, urging them to purchase their travel tickets without delay. Those failing to do so will now face strict penalties.
PMPML has made it clear that passengers should buy their tickets right at the start of the journey, ideally from the bus stop. Delayed ticket purchases, especially after boarding or once the bus has begun moving, are viewed as rule violations and will invite fines.
To make ticketing quicker and more convenient, PMPML has introduced a mobile-based online ticketing system. This also helps prevent disputes over change between passengers and conductors. However, it has been observed that some commuters misuse the system by purchasing digital tickets after the journey begins, which disrupts inspection processes.
In response, PMPML has updated its guidelines, stressing that passengers should secure tickets before boarding or immediately upon boarding.
Key Guidelines for Commuters:
Always buy your ticket from the bus stop before the ride begins.
In case of network issues during online booking, get a physical ticket from the conductor using the e-machine.
Delayed ticket purchases will result in penalties.
The transport body believes that strict compliance with these measures will lead to smoother ticketing operations and enhance the overall commuting experience for all.
