Balewadi, 23rd February 2022: Every year on 19th February, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s birthday is celebrated with excitement, especially in the state of Maharashtra. On the occasion of Shivaji Jayanti, BVP Balewadi celebrated the day by worshipping Maratha warrior, Shivaji Maharaj.

The stage was decorated with beautiful rangoli depicting the victory of Maharashtra’s greatest warrior. With great excitement, our talented Junior versatile artist of class 2nd A, Viraj Saste, sang a powada, a traditional Marathi ballad that traces its history to more than 750 years, glorified and celebrated deeds of popular folk figures and leader Chhatrapati Shivaji and Tanaji Malusare, and were also written to raise awareness on social issues such as female.

This was later followed by a speech by Principal Bhawana Rai who motivated teachers to inculcate the motives and principles of Jijamata and Dadoji Kondadeo among the students and produce more Shivaji Maharajas in the country, who could develop a passion to protect their motherland.

“Every contribution counts, everyone can make a difference. Just start with yourself.”

On the occasion of Shivaji Jayanti, students made eco-bricks and those are transferred into a beautiful peacock statue, a small tribute towards a cleaner environment.
