Pune University’s Science Park Moved Into Spacious Building

Pune, 25th February 2022: The ‘Science Park’ building at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) built in 2014 with the aim of instilling curiosity in children and teenagers, will now be further expanded. The new building of ‘Science Park’ will be inaugurated on Monday; 28th February 2022 at around 10.30 am by Padma Bhushan Baba Kalyani, Chairman and Executive Director, Bharat Forge Company.

The University’s ‘Center for Science Education and Communication’ i.e. Science Park was started in 2014. Apart from imparting information on science to the students through scientific projects created in the fields of biology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, etc., a tour of many environmental elements of the university campus is also conducted during this time. So far thousands of students have visited this science park.

Distinguished Professor and Coordinator of Science Park Dr Dilip Kanhere said, “The Science Park, which used to have an area of 3500 square feet, now has 15,000 square feet of space available in a separate building. In addition to the Microbiology and Chemistry Laboratory, four separate laboratories have been made available. There is also an arrangement of a projection chamber for displaying science documentaries and two large telescopes for space observation.”
