Pune: Calligraphy art exhibition to be held on the occasion of Ashadi Ekadashi

Pune, 4th July 2022: The first calligraphy art exhibition by calligrapher Sumit Katkar has been organized on the occasion of Ashadi Ekadashi. The concept of this exhibition will be ‘Akshar Vitthal’, where people will get to see various forms of Lord Vitthal through art forms. The exhibition will be held from Tuesday, July 5 to Sunday, July 10 from 11 am to 8.30 pm at P.N. Gadgil Art Gallery, Happy Colony, Kothrud. The entry will be free of cost.

Artist Sumit Katkar, who has a degree in Fine Arts and has been working in the field of advertising for the last ten years has mastered the art of calligraphy. Organizing various workshops on calligraphy, he has drawn 50 to 60 paintings depicting various forms of Vitthal from letters, all of which will be on display during the expo.

“The idea for this exhibition was mooted about two years ago, but couldn’t take off due to Corona. I am holding it this year as there is an improvement in the situation and coincidentally, the art gallery is also available at the time of Ashadi Ekadashi,” said Katkar.

The exhibition will be inaugurated on July 5 at 5 pm at P.N. Gadgil art Gallery by renowned poet, writer and lyricist Vaibhav Joshi. Praveen Dabhadgaon, State Functionary of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Amit Gorkhe, Chairman of Novell International School and Kalarang Kala Sanstha and Atul Inamdar, Director of SAR Industries will be present on the occasion.
