Pune, 28th November 2025: With municipal council elections approaching, political parties have intensified their outreach through rallies and public meetings. During one such gathering in Fursungi–Uruli Devachi, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar expressed strong concern over the poor state of local infrastructure, particularly the damaged roads.

The event was organised in support of Santosh Fakira Sarode, the Nationalist Congress Party’s official candidate for the post of Fursungi–Uruli Devachi Municipal Council chief.

Addressing residents, Pawar said he had first visited the Shri Kal Bhairavnath temple, the village deity, to seek blessings. However, the journey left him taken aback. “I felt ashamed looking at the condition of the road. I represent you all in the state legislature and also serve as the guardian minister of this district. Seeing such poor road conditions made me embarrassed,” he said.

Wondering how citizens manage daily commuting challenges, Pawar reiterated that the development of the Fursungi–Uruli Devachi region is a key priority for his party.

“If we work together with speed and honesty, it is certainly possible to take this region to new heights of progress in the coming years,” he added, assuring residents of planned improvements in infrastructure.
