Pune: Dec 5 Deadline Set for Pothole Repairs in Hinjawadi IT Hub, Says PMRDA Chief
Pune, 28th November 2025: Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) commissioner Yogesh Mhase has instructed all concerned authorities to finish pothole repair work across Hinjewadi IT Park and adjoining areas by December 5. The order was issued during a coordination meeting held on Wednesday with officials from multiple civic and government bodies.
Mhase, who has been designated as the single authority to handle infrastructure-related concerns in the IT corridor, reviewed earlier complaints and the progress of action taken thus far. Senior representatives from the MIDC, Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad municipal corporations, police, the local gram panchayat, and IT professionals participated in the meeting.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Mhase said that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who chairs the PMRDA, will conduct a detailed review of regional development works in the first week of December, including projects underway in Hinjewadi. However, Mhase emphasised that the new pothole directive was not issued because of the CM’s upcoming meeting.
“Road restoration was already planned after the monsoon season. Although some repairs were done earlier, many potholes reappeared, forcing commuters to repeatedly raise objections,” he said. “All agencies have now been given a firm deadline of December 5 to complete the work.”

This year, Fadnavis had held discussions with IT professionals following a rise in complaints about road infrastructure and public facilities in the Hinjewadi area.
Sachin Londhe, representing IT employees at Wednesday’s review, said the meeting was called after a mass email initiative launched by workers fed up with deteriorating road conditions.
“About 5,500 employees sent emails pointing out the irony — the administration is gearing up for an international cycling event where a major stretch goes through Hinjewadi, while several internal roads here are still damaged,” he said. “The emails were marked to the Chief Minister, PMRDA, and other civic bodies. Soon after, I received a call from the CM’s office asking for further details.”
