Camp, 8th March 2023: Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) is facing criticism from citizens after a sudden disappearance of names from voter lists ahead of the upcoming elections on April 30.

Many voters have rushed directly to the Pune Collector’s Office to raise concerns, with citizens alleging that the board administration did not give prior notice before removing names. The deadline for checking new registrations and names was set from March 1 to March 3, and objections can be filed until March 8.

However, citizens are calling for an extension, as many people were unable to attend during the given period due to various reasons. The Cantonment Act states that the final voter list updated in 2022 will be considered, but many citizens fear that thousands will be deprived of their right to vote due to the sudden removal of names.
