Pune: Car Accident Claims Life of Woman Engineer On Sangamwadi Road, Two Others Injured
Yerwada, 17th August 2023: A young computer engineer lost her life in a tragic accident on Sangamwadi Road in the Yerwada area. The driver of the vehicle and his girlfriend are currently in critical condition.
The incident occurred at around 4 am on Thursday. Yerwada police have filed a case against the motorist who was operating the motorcycle at a high speed. The incident took place when the car driver tried to save the speeding bike.
The injured parties have been identified as Prateek Sahebrao Gole (28 years old, a resident of Narhe, Pune) and Ritwika Vinod Kumar Garg (24 years old, residing in Viman Nagar).
According to police, Prateek, Ritwika, and Rituja were colleagues at the same company.They were traveling in a car on Sangamwadi Road. In an attempt to evade the two-wheeler, the car collided with a tree situated on the left side of the footpath. The force of impact led to the breaking of the tree, and the car became wedged in the debris.
Rituja was sitting in the back seat of the car during the collision. All three individuals sustained injuries as a result of the accident, with Rituja’s injuries being particularly severe. Prompt response from the police, fire brigade, and concerned citizens facilitated the rescue of the injured, who were subsequently transported to a hospital for medical attention.
Rituja’s injuries proved fatal, and she was pronounced dead before treatment could be administered. Yerwada police have initiated a thorough investigation into the incident.
