Pune: Car Hijacked Near Hinjawadi After Assaulting Driver, Police Arrest Two Robbers Within 4 Hours
Hinjawadi, 2nd May 2022: The officials from Pimpri Chinchwad Police have arrested two men who assaulted a driver and looted his car near Bhumkar Chowk.
The accused have been identified as Prakash Hariram Yadav (26) of Kalewadi and Vishal Damodar Pillay (24) of Dange Chowk, Thergaon.
According to an FIR registered with Hinjawadi police station, the complainant was passing by the area around midnight on April 30. He was stopped by two men on a bike near Bhumkar Chowk in Wakad. They assaulted the driver and hit him on the head with stones and then fled with the car.
Senior police inspector Vivek Muglikar said that on the basis of CCTV footage and technical analysis, the accused were arrested within four hours and the car was recovered.
