Pune: Case Registered Against Three, Including Advocate Praveen Chavan, For Demanding Money From Client

Pune, 16th January 2023: A case has been registered against Special Public Prosecutor Advocate Praveen Chavan and two others at the Deccan police station on Monday night. Suraj Sunil Zanwar (32), a resident of Sai Bungalow, Suhas Colony, Jalgaon, has filed a complaint.

The case has been registered against Praveen Pandit Chavan, a resident of Shivajinagar, Shekhar Madhukar Sonalkar, a resident of Jalgaon, and Uday Nanabhau Pawar, a resident of Chalisgaon, Jalgaon.

According to police, a case has been registered against the directors of Bhaichand Hirachand Raisoni Multi State Society in Jalgaon in the case of cheating the depositors. As the depositors’ money was not returned, the property was ordered to be sold, and the depositors’ money returned. The e-auction process was implemented by the bidder. Complainant Suraj Zanwar’s father had purchased three properties through the e-auction process. “A case was registered against my father, Sunil Zanwar, at Deccan Police Station,” he said. Suraj Zanwar has said in the complaint that his father was involved in crime due to political motives.

In this case, Advocate Praveen Chavan was appointed as Special Public Prosecutor. “Bank accounts of my company, relatives and workers were frozen. I appointed the Advocate to pursue the case for granting bail to my father and reopen frozen bank accounts. Chavan demanded Rs 1.22 crore from me through intermediaries Uday Pawar and Shekhar Sonalkar,” the complainant explained.

Further investigation is going on in the case.
