Pune: CET Registration Deadline Extended: Opportunity for BBA, BMS, and BCA Aspirants

Pune, 20th April 2024: A total of 48,182 students have enrolled for the Common Entrance Test (CET) for Bachelor of Management Science (BBA, BMS) and Computer Application (BCA) degree courses. However, recognizing the need for greater awareness and participation, the CET Cell has decided to extend the registration deadline until April 30th.

The All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has decided to align BCA, BBA, and BMS degree courses with the standards set for MBA and MCA programs. Consequently, the CET for admission to these courses will be administered by the CET Cell. Admission decisions will be based on the performance in this examination, rendering CET registration mandatory for these courses.

Despite the substantial number of initial registrations, the education sector expressed concerns about the lack of awareness surrounding this inaugural examination in the state. In response, the registration deadline extension was deemed necessary.

According to CET Cell Commissioner Mahendra Varbhuvan, while 48,182 students have already registered for BBA, BMS, and BCA course admission CET, the deadline for registration has been extended to April 30th. Additionally, the deadline for the entrance examination for MBA and MCA integrated courses has also been prolonged until April 30th. The CET for BBA, BMS, and BCA courses, as well as MBA and MCA integrated courses, is scheduled to take place from May 27th to 29th.

In a separate update, 54,413 students have registered for the entrance exam for the B.Sc Nursing course. The registration deadline for this course has been extended until April 25th, as announced by the CET Cell.
