Pune: Chandni Chowk Now Renamed As NDA Chowk
Pune 12th August 2023: The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways on Saturday renamed Chandni Chowk as NDA Chowk dedicating it to the city’s iconic institute of tri-military education National Defence Academy (NDA). Indian Army’s T-55, MIG – 27 fighter aircraft of the Indian Airforce and scaled model of aircraft Carrier INS Vikrant of the Indian Navy are now on display at the NDA chowk.
“These war machine symbolizes the jointmanship which the National Defence Academy nutures amongst its cadets who pass out from its portals to become officers in the three services. NDA Chowk embodies the shared commitment of our armed forces for territorial integrity and sovereignty of our nation. The NDA Chowk also recognises the value that our armed forces embody and is a testament to the unwavering spirit of our great nation” the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Defence said in a statement.
It may be noted that Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Saturday inaugurated the newly constructed flyover at NDA Chowk on the Pune-Bengaluru Highway.
