Pune, 30th May 2023: Starting from 1st June, the bus service from Market Yard to Maval operated by PMPML will be halted, and the service will now commence from Kothrud bus depot. This modification means that farmers traveling from Maval will no longer have direct access to Market Yard via bus. Instead, they will have to disembark at Kothrud and transfer to another bus destined for Market Yard.

Currently, there are a total of 19 buses running from Market Yard to destinations such as Ghotavade, Kharawade, Lawarde, Male, Paud, Katarkhadak, Marnewadi, Kolwan, and others in Maval. Out of these, eight buses have been discontinued, while the remaining 11 continue their operations. The buses collectively transport approximately 11,000 passengers per day during a total of 60 trips.

The bus route from Market Yard follows a path through Swargate, Deccan, Kothrud, and Chandni Chowk. Consequently, there is a higher demand for intra-city travel from Pune to Maval compared to the number of passengers commuting to Market Yard from Maval.

This alteration in bus routes has caused inconvenience for many farmers who visit the market to purchase agricultural products and materials. With the new arrangement, they will have to catch another bus to reach the market, resulting in wasted time and extra effort.
