Pune: Check Traffic Diversions Today For Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti Processions
Pune, 10th March 2023: Pune Traffic Police have issued traffic advisory for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti processions today in various parts of the city.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Branch, Pune City, Vijayakumar Magar has ordered the closure and diversion of traffic on certain roads to ensure smooth and safe movement of the processions.
The main procession route starts from Bhawani Mata Mandir, Bhawani Peth, and Ramoshi Gate Chowk and ends at Lalmahal Chowk in Pune. Essential service vehicles such as Fire Brigade and Ambulance are exempted from the orders.
The following diversion routes have been suggested:
After traffic stop on Nehru Road, those going from Power House to Seven Loves should go via Qadar Chowk – Quarter Gate Chowk – Old Motor Stand or take the route from Power House to Samarth Police Station to Shantai Hotel to Quarter Gate to Old Motor Stand. Also, those going from Seven Loves Chowk to Power House should proceed via Bahubali Chowk, Rajasbai Gangale Path via Old Motor Stand – Quarter Gate.
After traffic stop on Laxmi Road, those going towards Tilak Chowk should take Nehru Road – Power House Chowk – Apollo Talkies – Phadke Houd – Jijamata Chowk. Also, those going from Devji Baba Chowk to Swargate via Mithganj Chowk should use Nehru Road from Devji Baba Chowk to Daruwala Bridge to Apollo Cinema to Power House Chowk.
Traffic on Ganesh Road will go to the desired destination via Gadgil Putala- Budhwar Chowk via Shivaji Road as per requirement. Traffic coming via Kelkar Road, Budhwar Chowk, Pasodya Vithoba Mandir will be diverted from Appa Balwant Chowk, Budhwar Chowk as per requirement till the procession passes Moti Chowk, Phadke Houd Chowk and will proceed to the destination via Bajirao Road, Shivaji Road.
Motorists going to Swargate from Shivaji Road will proceed from SG Barve Chowk via Jungli Maharaj Road via Khandoji Baba Chowk- Tilak Chowk- Tilak Road to their destination. Motorists going from SG Barve Chowk to Pune Manpa Bhavan should take a left turn from Jhansi Rani Chowk on Jungli Maharaj Road.
Citizens and motorists are advised to avoid coming and going on the procession route and use alternative routes. All types of vehicles’ parking are prohibited on both sides of the procession route, and parking of vehicles up to a distance of 100 feet from the mouth of the main road is also banned on lanes where the procession is going.
Apart from the main procession, small and big processions will be held in Camp, Khadki, and other areas of the city. The procession in the Camp area will start from Khanya Maruti Chowk, Tryluck Hotel Chowk, New Modikhana Marg, Mufti Chowk, right turn Qureshi Masjid, Central Street, Bhopale Chowk, Central Street Chowk, and conclude at Asudkhan Chowk.
The procession in the Khadki area will start from Shivaji Statue, Khadki Bazar, Cantonment Hospital Chowk, Shriram Mandir, Asurkhana Chowk, Hule Road, Navi Talim Chowk, Gopi Chowk, Ambedkar Chowk, Crown Hotel Chowk, Tikara Chowk, D.R.Gandhi Chowk, Maharashtra Bank and conclude at Shivaji statue.
