Hinjawadi, 18th July 2025: A complaint has been filed with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) against Arabian Mandi Hotel on Marunji Road, Hinjawadi, after a customer allegedly found a chicken feather in his meal and raised serious concerns over hygiene and food safety.

Advocate Pradeep Naik, who serves as the Pimpri-Chinchwad City General Secretary of the Legal Cell for the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), lodged a formal complaint following his visit to the hotel on the evening of July 16. According to his statement, the restaurant was poorly maintained, with multiple violations of basic sanitation norms.

“I was shocked to see the condition of the place. There was no designated parking, the dining space was unclean, the tables were greasy, and even the handwashing area looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in days,” Naik said. “But what truly crossed the line was finding a chicken feather in the food served to me.”

Naik had ordered Nizam Chicken Kebab when he discovered the feather mid-meal. He immediately raised the issue with the restaurant’s manager, but was allegedly met with indifference. “Instead of addressing the problem, the manager told me to keep quiet and even suggested I skip paying the bill to avoid complications,” he added. Naik, however, insisted on settling the bill and paid ₹482.

Following the incident, Naik submitted a detailed written complaint to the FDA, demanding swift inspection of the premises and cancellation of the hotel’s food license. He emphasized the public health risk posed by such negligence. “This isn’t just about one meal—it’s about the potential health hazard this restaurant could be for hundreds of customers every day,” he said.

As of now, the FDA has not issued an official response.
