Pune: Chinchwad Constituency Receives 1.7 Lakh Voter Guides and 6.63 Lakh Information Slips
Pune, 12th November 2024: About 1,70,000 voter guides and 6,63,622 voter information slips have been received by the Chinchwad Constituency’s Assistant Election Returning Officer’s office from the Pune District Collector’s Office for the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections. Assistant Election Returning Officer Anil Pawar has informed that 688 voter guides and 2,230 voter tickets have been distributed to voters so far. On behalf of the Election Commission of India, Voter Information Sheets (Poll Cheats) and Voter Guides are provided to voters. The voter information letter contains essential details such as name, locality, centre, list number, section number, and room number.
The voter guide covers constitutional and legal provisions, the registration process, the application filling process, instructions for disabled voters, what to do before polling day, what to do on polling day, polling station layout, signboards and their meanings, the voting process, facilities for disabled and elderly voters, services provided by the Election Commission, voting through EVM, home voting facility, ECI facilities, voter helplines, and detailed information on other related matters.
To increase voter turnout in Chinchwad Constituency, under the guidance of Assistant Election Returning Officer Anil Pawar, voter slips and guides are being distributed to voters’ homes through 561 polling centre-level officers. Citizens are also being encouraged to vote. Pawar has informed that particular emphasis is being placed on distributing voter information letters and guides to senior citizens and new voters through polling centre-level officials.
