Pune : Chlorine Gas Leak Reported In Swimming Pool At Kasarwadi, Fire Brigade Team Rushed To The Spot
Pimpri Chinchwad 10th Oct 2023: The citizens who had gone for swimming in the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Swimming Pool in Kasarwadi area of Pimpri Chinchwad had reported breathing problems after chlorine gas had started leaking. The incident was reported on Tuesday morning and the fire brigade teams of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation were immediately rushed to the spot.
According to the officials, the citizens in the nearby areas had also started facing breathing problems along with coughing and throat problems. The rescue team immediately rushed the citizens to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital for treatment. Reportedly, several citizens also fell unconscious in the incident and the gas had spread in a 500 meters area around the swimming pool due to which the nearby road and the swimming pool was closed for citizens.
A fire brigade official said that a cylinder having chlorine gas had started leaking from below and the officials equipped with necessary equipment brought the situation under control. “The leakage was reported only in one cylinder and our officials have brought the situation under control” , said a fire brigade official.
