Chinchwad, 30th December 2023: To directly engage with the citizens of Pimpri-Chinchwad, Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey conducted an interactive session on Twitter to address queries related to cybercrime and traffic issues. The initiative, held on Friday (29th December), saw active participation from over 350 citizens, showcasing a keen interest in raising concerns and seeking solutions.

During the one-hour session from 4 pm to 5 pm, more than 125 tweets focused on questions about cybercrime and traffic problems. Concerns about the growing use of mobile phones by children and the associated risks of fraud were among the prominent topics. Parents expressed their worries, seeking guidance on how to protect their children from online threats.

The citizens acknowledged the efforts of the Pimpri-Chinchwad police in creating awareness about cybercrime by visiting intermediate schools. Some Twitter users shared their experiences with online fraud and sought advice on handling online tasks securely.

In response, the police emphasized the importance of citizens not falling prey to online scams and encouraged open communication with children about online safety. The police also advised citizens to stay informed about cybercrime and become cyber-smart. In a lighthearted moment, Commissioner Choubey used a quote from Shakespeare’s “What’s in a name?” to drive home a point.

Traffic issues in the city, especially in the Wakad and Hinjawadi areas, were also major concerns raised by citizens. Complaints about insufficient traffic regulation despite reporting to the traffic police and demands for action against wrong-way drivers were among the queries. The Commissioner of Police appealed to citizens to adhere to traffic rules and cooperate with the police.

Acknowledging that some questions remained unanswered, Commissioner Choubey assured citizens that those questions would be addressed in the next session.
