Pune: Citizens Voice Their Concerns Regarding Closure Of Pashan And Sus Road
Pune, 5th April 2023: Residents of Pashan and Sus have voiced their opposition to the city administration’s planned road shutdown.
Residents complained that the turn for the service road in front of the Audi showroom has been blocked off for the past two months. As a result, drivers now have to go a great distance, which is quite inconvenient.
Also, traffic on the service road near the Kia showroom is congested all day long due to the road closure, and drivers need to pass through it to get to the area from Hinjawadi.
These road closures often lead to individuals driving on the other side of the road, increasing the risk of accidents.
“PMC, Pune Traffic Police, and all others who were involved in decision-making should have consulted residents,” claimed one of the residents of Pashan. Many people are frequently stuck hence, citizens have requested the PMC and other governments to address the situation and offer the inhabitants assistance.
Another resident informed that the service roads were shut down for traffic 1.5 months after the new bridge was opened, which led to accidents and driving on the wrong side of the road.
Chaturshringi traffic division police informed that the choice was made to prevent any significant accidents. Police also stated that the complaints had been reported to the PMRDA. They will continue to investigate and fix the problems with the road closures.
