Pune: Class 12 Student Attacked With Sickle Outside Kothrud College, Three Minors Detained

Kothrud, 25th February 2026: An 18-year-old student was allegedly attacked with a sickle shortly after appearing for his Class 12 examination outside a college in Kothrud on Tuesday afternoon. Police have detained three minors in connection with the incident.

According to police officials, the injured student and the accused had earlier studied together at a school in the Warje area. A dispute had reportedly occurred between them when they were in Class 10.

On Tuesday afternoon, the minors allegedly intercepted the student near the college premises in Kothrud, verbally abused him and attacked him with a sickle. The student sustained minor injuries in the assault, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone III) Sambhaji Kadam said.

After receiving information about the incident, Senior Police Inspector Sandeep Deshmane of Kothrud Police Station rushed to the spot. The three minors were taken into custody, and the sickle used in the attack has been seized.

Police are investigating where the accused procured the weapon. Further inquiry is underway.
