Pune, August 11, 2020: The admission process for the students of class XI, i.e. First Year Junior College (FYJC) in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad will start on Wednesday, August 12, while the first merit list will be announced on August 30. The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, on Monday, announced the schedule for the first phase of class XI online Centralised Admission Process (CAP).

This year, 1 lakh 6 thousand 812 seats are available in 304 junior colleges. The highest number of seats is for the Science stream (46,981). About 90,648 students have registered so far, out of which 61,883 have filled the first part of the application. The applications of 23,410 students have been verified. As the admission schedule has been announced, it will now be possible for students to get admission in the first round itself by filling part two of the admission application, said Meena Shendkar, Secretary, CAP Committee.

A zero round will be conducted from August 12 to 22 for admission to preferred and reserved seats (quota). Students will be able to register their college preferences for the first regular round during this time. Student application verification will continue simultaneously at the guidance centres and higher secondary schools.

If a student is assigned the college that was his/her first choice in the preference list, he/she must take admission to that college itself. Once admitted to the college of the first choice, the student will drop out of the admission process. Students can cancel admission by requesting the college. Students who have been denied admission will have to wait for a special admission round, the admission committee has clarified.
