Pune: Closed Covid Centers To Be Converted Into Zika Care Centres In All Talukas
Pune, 05 August 2021: A special survey will be conducted in 83 villages in the district that have reported cases of malaria, chikungunya, and dengue after the Zika virus was detected in Belsar in Purandar taluka. Also, Zika Care Center will be set up in each taluka in the currently closed Covid Centers.
Tehsildars and Block Development Officers in the district have been instructed. The survey will be started in these villages through the health department and the taluka administration, informed Ayush Prasad, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad.
In villages where malaria patients have been found, special surveys will be carried out to find the spreaders, check for fever patients, and evacuating water pits. The administration is trying to prevent the spread of the Zika virus. The Zilla Parishad administration is working towards that.
